Legend has it

Well, it seems that i am pretty tired these few days to do any blogging. I blogged anyway.
I am in class today. Waking up early ain't no easy thing. I struggled to keep myself awake while i was at the Mrt. I read the Bible, the book of Ezra, learn some pretty important principles from the letters that were written to King Darius to rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem. I pretty pity the Israelities. They are taken into captivity by the Babylonians and are enslaved to them. At first glance, God seems really unforgiving. He can't forgive what Manasseh has done even though he repented after God knocked some senses into him. But, as i continue to read on, i realized that God has already been putting up with them quite a lot since the last years of King Solomon. A few good kings came along, like Jehosaphat, Hezekiah and Asa, but most of them didn't really end well. God continued to show His mercy to the people but Judah, the tribe He has chosen, just continue to get more evil. Manasseh just added on to God's wrath on the people.
Whenever i am spending my quiet time, i thought of the kings in the past. They have faith in God, rely on God to lead their people. But, they still ended off pretty badly. At the end, they didn't put their faith in God even after they faced critical situation. Sometimes, it doesn't mean you will end off well when you started off well. Asa started off well, everything he does, he does it with favor in God's eyes, he even deposed his queen mother for building an Asherah Pole. But, at the end, he depended on King Aram rather than God. During the last two years of his life, when he was inflicted with a disease, he did not humble himself before God to seek healing from Him. He died with that disease. I guess no one wants to be like him. It also serves as a important lesson to us also.
Don't start off well and end off bad. Why not start it well and end it glamorously. We want to end the race of faith gloriously. Not start a race running fast, panting and walking at the end.
